A trip down to your local gift shop will give you plenty of choice.  You might find a nice baskets at a car boot sale or jumble sales. Its amazing what a quick rinse and a drop of soap can make in the appearance of your once used basket.

Decoration

Decoration is really easy as a nice wicker basket or pretty box already brings with it a nice start. To bed your fruit presentations a common choice is shredded plain or coloured paper. Another nice look is crumpled up tissue paper to sit the fruit on. To personalize the basket decorative ribbon wrapped around the handle is a great addition.  Other items can be included to your fruit basket like flowers, jars of condiment or anything tastey and appealing.

A moment of thought is needed to decide what theme we want to follow in our fruit basket design. There are many ways of doing this such as picking only classic fruits, or perhaps going for a tropical approach. Once a nice selection is created we can add more colourful tender fruits to the outer edges of the basket. Anything soft and juicey makes a great addition and looks great. Go for fruits that are right on their peek of ripeness as they will be eaten quickly and will be well enjoyed.

Try and think out of the box and add anything that improves the colour and appearance of your fruit basket.
